WHAT: Climate Security Festival

Welcome to the first ever Climate Security Festival! The event takes place on September 21-22 at the Finnish Meteorological Institute in Helsinki. We invite you to take part in creating practical solutions and imagining futures that could ensure a safer climate for everyone. We welcome researchers in different fields, civil society organizations, security experts, preparedness and rescue organizations, artists, activists, students, educators and others to discuss risks related to climate change in an open and equal space. The festival is organized by Safer Climate & the Committee of 100 in Finland (Sadankomitea) together with the Finnish Meteorological Institute, Sivis Study Centre and Helsinki International Film Festival Love & Anarchy.
On Thursday September the 21st, we are honoring the UN International Day of Peace by organizing a special Peace, Love and Anarchy film screening + discussion event in collaboration with Love & Anarchy. Details will be announced later.

The festival is part of an ongoing project Toward a Safer Climate, coordinated by Committee of 100 in Finland and the Initiative for a Safer Climate. The project is funded by Kuluttajaosuustoiminnan säätiö. Safer Climate is a part of the Atmosphere and Climate Competence Center (ACCC) funded by the Research Council of Finland.
