Effects of climate change, biodiversity loss and poor air quality are an increasing cause of mortality and decrease in wellbeing globally. We need natural scientists, social scientists, artists and civil society to work together to create new solutions to these challenges In this workshop, we use scientific and artistic approaches and acknowledge the power of experiencing things together.

WORKSHOP 3 | WHO OWNS THE CLIMATE SECURITY DISCUSSION?

The discussion about climate security is increasing in various sectors, including research, non-governmental organizations, education, and businesses. . In this workshop, we ask who produces information related to climate security, how it is shared among stakeholders, who claims ownership of the climate security discourse, and how equality is ensured in the generation, dissemination, and utilization of information.
The festival program will be built around parallel workshop sessions, with the aim of strengthening and fostering cooperation between different sectors. The final program will be refined based on participants' preferences by September, and participation in the planning working group is open to all interested parties.
On 21 September in the evening, we are honoring the UN International Day of Peace by organizing a special Peace, Love and Anarchy film screening and discussion event in collaboration with the Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy.
